JEE Mains Merit List Eligibility: There is great news for the candidates appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering (JEE Main Exam). The rule of 75 percent marks has again been implemented in JEE Main. That is, if the candidate has less than 75 percent marks in the 12th, then he will not get a place in the merit list. This rule is for general category students while reserved category candidates will have to score at least 65 percent marks only then they will get a place in merit.
Exemption was given due to Kovid
Let us tell you that this rule was applicable for JEE Main exam earlier also, but in the last two years due to Kovid, this rule was relaxed. In the last two years, even if the candidate does not get 74 percent marks in 12th and gets selected in JEE Main, then it was considered eligible for admission. But this time the rule has changed. Even if the candidate is selected in JEE Main, but after the declaration of the board result, his marks are less than 75 percent, then he will not get a place in the merit list.
